The "Vieux Lyon", old city of Lyon, classified as world heritage of UNESCO, is the medieval and Renaissance neighborhoods Lyon. It is located along the Saône river, at the foot of Fourviere Hill. This is one of the largest districts of this periode which is still remained intact untill today. The "Vieux Lyon" is divided into three areas: Saint-Georges in the south, Saint-Jean in the centre and Saint-Paul in the North. The Saint-Jean is the best known, with the Primatiale Saint-Jean. Its main thoroughfare is the Saint-Jean street, through the district until Saint-Paul. It has many architectural curiosities, especially "traboules". The "traboules" are passages through the course of building that can go from one street to another. There are also beautiful inner courtyards, often unsuspected and maintaining their medieval characteristics.
