Loches is a small town over from the valley of Indre on the old road dealer Amboise in Poitiers which has long competed with the commercial route of Aquitaine from towers or Langeais. Very soon, this bridge appears to have been fortified. Loches is a small medieval town topped the oldest tower in Europe built around the millennium by Fulk III Nerra. In 1249, the lordship of Loches definitely going to French royal domain after St. Louis purchases with the one of Chatillon-sur-Indre for 600 pounds.
