National Museum of the Renaissance, the castle of Écouen has been built from 1538 by Anne de Montmorency. Only museum in France dedicated to the period, thirty-two rooms including museum house a collection of jewelry, ceramics, Ottoman, painted enamels from Limoges, the collection of weapons from Edouard de Beaumont, terracottas of Masséot Abaquesne and all parts of the ceramic workshop of Bernard Palissy. One of the most remarkable works of the museum is the series of ten tapestries devoted to the story of David and Bathsheba. Woven in Brussels in the years 1515-1520, they have belonged to Henry VIII of England.
