In 1857, a factory designed to spread the love of arts and sciences is officially based in Alençon, following a combination of a cabinet of natural history and some works created after the French Revolution. Soon, the museum is growing and gaining importance thanks to Leon of Sicotiere, senator and local scholar. New collections and donations enrich the Heritage Museum. In this period late nineteenth century that most of the Museum's collection was formed. But not until the late nineteenth century that the famous lace Alençon make their appearance at the Museum.
